Hindi cinema legend Dharmendra’s family is set to honour the late actor on what would have been his 90th birthday on December 8. Sons Sunny and Bobby Deol have announced that fans will be welcomed at the family’s Khandala farmhouse to pay their respects and celebrate the actor’s legacy.
The tribute, described as a quiet and heartfelt event, will commence at 12:30 PM. Fans can attend without passes or prior registration, and bus services have been arranged to facilitate travel from Lonavala. The Deol family will also meet and interact with attendees during the ceremony. Media representatives have been granted access to cover the event.
Dharmendra, widely celebrated as one of Hindi cinema’s most iconic stars, had been battling age-related illnesses in recent years. He was hospitalised on November 10 at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital due to breathing difficulties and placed on a ventilator. Reports of his demise circulated during his hospitalisation, which the family denied. He was discharged on November 12 with medical advice for home care but passed away on November 24, 2025.
The actor’s last rites were conducted at Mumbai’s Vile Parle crematorium, attended by Bollywood celebrities including Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Amitabh Bachchan, and Aamir Khan. Following this, his ashes were immersed at Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar on December 4, with Sunny Deol’s son Karan performing the rituals alongside six family members.
Sunny and Bobby Deol’s initiative to open the farmhouse to fans highlights the deep connection Dharmendra shared with his admirers throughout his career. The family hopes that this tribute will allow fans to celebrate the life and contributions of the “He-Man” of Bollywood, ensuring his memory continues to inspire generations.
The Khandala tribute is expected to draw a large number of fans from across Maharashtra, reflecting Dharmendra’s enduring impact on Indian cinema and popular culture.
