Filmmaker Hemanth for sexual harassment: Accused of harassing an actress on the pretext of film offer

According to India Today report, the actress alleged that she met Hemanth in 2022 and was subsequently cast as the lead in his film, "Richie," for an agreed-upon fee of ₹2 lakh. She received an initial advance of ₹60,000.
According to her complaint, as the film's production stalled, Hemanth allegedly pressured her to wear revealing clothing and perform sexually suggestive acts. She further claims that he made unwanted physical advances and continued to harass her during a trip to Mumbai. When she refused his demands, she alleges that he threatened her with violence, even extending the threats to her mother.
The actress also stated in her complaint that Hemanth took her to Mumbai under the guise of promoting the film. While there, he allegedly spiked her mocktail with alcohol and took private videos and photos of her without her consent. Hemanth is currently in custody and under investigation regarding these allegations.
