In the recently held official state auditions organized by Miss Universe India, Harshita Sahu emerged as the winner among several talented participants from across Madhya Pradesh. With this win, she has secured direct entry into Miss Universe India 2026 as a finalist, continuing her journey toward the national and international stage. Inspired by legends like Sushmita Sen (Miss Universe 1994) and Lara Dutta (Miss Universe 2000), Harshita aspires to bring glory to her state and nation on the global platform.
The state auditions were conducted in the capital as part of Miss Universe India’s initiative to identify and promote local talent from across India. The objective of these auditions is to provide young women with an exceptional platform to grow in their careers and represent their regions at the national level.
During the auditions, participants from different parts of Madhya Pradesh showcased their talent in front of an esteemed panel of judges, including Mr. Nikhil Anand (Owner, Miss Universe India), Miss Manika Vishwakarma (Miss Universe India 2025 & Top Model of India), and Mr. Amjad Khan (Director, Miss Universe India).
Speaking to the media, Mr. Nikhil Anand stated that the winner of the Madhya Pradesh state auditions receives direct entry into Miss Universe India 2026. He emphasized that these auditions serve as a powerful platform for young women to advance in their professional journeys and showcase their talent on a larger stage. He further noted that this is the third consecutive year Madhya Pradesh has been officially hosting state-level auditions, enabling regional talent to shine nationally and internationally.
Miss Universe India 2025, Manika Vishwakarma said, “Madhya Pradesh is incredible. The talent here is outstanding. The winner will now represent the state at national and international platforms. There is immense potential among the participants, and I wish them all great success.” She also appreciated the cultural richness of Madhya Pradesh, adding that the cuisine of the state is exceptionally delightful.
The National PR Director of Miss Universe India highlighted that the Miss Universe pageant is one of the world’s most prestigious competitions. He also referenced iconic winners such as Sushmita Sen (1994) and Lara Dutta (2000), who brought global recognition to India. These women not only represented beauty but also established themselves as influential personalities across various fields.

Harshita Sahu is a 23-year-old young professional from Ruthiyai, Guna district, Madhya Pradesh. A Computer Science graduate, she currently works as a Data Analyst at Deutsche Bank. Rising from a small-town background, she has built a strong career grounded in education, dedication, and self-reliance. Alongside her professional journey, Harshita has been actively involved in social initiatives. She has worked with several NGOs and organizations including UNI, HelpAge India, and Muskurahat Foundation, contributing to educational and child welfare programs. She has also been recognized for her environmental initiative of creating approximately 200 flower pots from waste materials, promoting sustainability and eco-friendly practices.
This marks her first step into the world of pageantry, where she is now representing Madhya Pradesh at Miss Universe India 2026. Harshita believes that no dream is too big for individuals from small towns, provided they pursue it with courage, discipline, and consistent effort.
