Kangana Ranaut sparks BJP buzz with Chief Minister Claim in Mandi

Arriving at Seri Manch in Mandi to participate in a grand Maha Yagya for world peace and disaster relief, Kangana asserted that “whatever task is assigned to me, I have the capability to fulfill it with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s blessings.”

When pressed on whether she could lead the state after the next assembly elections, Kangana said her family knows she sees every role through to completion. Political analysts suggest her remarks strengthen her position within the party, especially after her surprising Lok Sabha victory from the Mandi seat, where she defeated sitting PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh.

Kangana’s growing political ambitions were first signaled in a recent podcast, where she raised the prospect of a Union Cabinet berth. Today, she reiterated her commitment to Himachal’s development, noting that this was her second visit since the recent natural disasters. “We are working day and night for Mandi,” she stated, adding that she has coordinated with the Home Ministry and other central agencies to expedite relief efforts across Himachal, Uttarakhand, and Punjab.

During her temple visit to Mata Siddh Kali before the Yagya ceremony, Kangana also took aim at critics, saying, “Some people’s job is to make inflammatory statements—those with an inferiority complex.” She promised to visit Manali next to personally assess disaster damage.

Highlighting central relief funding, Kangana confirmed that New Delhi has released over Rs.10,000 crore for Himachal Pradesh. Of this, Rs.1,500 crore was sanctioned during the Prime Minister’s recent visit, following earlier tranches of Rs.1,800 crore, Rs.2,200 crore, and Rs.2,300 crore. She urged the state Congress government to appreciate this unprecedented support for a small hill state.

A lifelong philanthropist, Kangana also shared her longstanding partnership with the Ramakrishna Mission’s Swami Vivekananda Charitable Institute, emphasizing her dedication to charitable causes.

Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur joined Kangana at the Yagya, which aimed to pray for the safety, peace, and prosperity of Himachal’s residents. Kangana’s bold statement today has undoubtedly set tongues wagging across the BJP camp and the wider political landscape in Himachal Pradesh.
