Ranveer Singh's 'Dhurandhar' Claims Top Spot as 2025's Highest-Grossing Indian Film

Aditya Dhar's spy thriller Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, has surged past ₹877 crore worldwide in just 18 days, emerging as the highest-grossing Indian film of 2025.

The actioner overtook Rishab Shetty's Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1, which closed around ₹852 crore lifetime. Dhurandhar now ranks 11th among all-time Indian grossers.

Of the total ₹877 crore, domestic collections stand at ₹598 crore gross, with strong holds on weekdays. Monday brought in ₹19.70 crore, following a robust second Sunday of ₹40 crore.

The film shattered records, including the best second-weekend haul for a Hindi title, eclipsing Ranbir Kapoor's Animal. Its third Sunday earned ₹38.5 crore against Animal's ₹14.5 crore on the corresponding day.

In 18 days, Dhurandhar has become the sixth highest-grossing Hindi film ever, surpassing Stree 2, Secret Superstar, Sultan, and Chhaava.

Trade analysts predict it could climb to fourth among Hindi all-timers by Christmas, potentially overtaking Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Animal. The current leader remains an Aamir Khan blockbuster at ₹1,968 crore.

Directed by Aditya Dhar and co-starring Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal, the film follows an Indian operative infiltrating Karachi's underworld.

Released December 5, Dhurandhar has drawn praise for its intense action, performances—especially Singh's restrained intensity and Khanna's charisma—and ambitious scale, despite a lengthy runtime.

With momentum intact amid holiday season footfalls, the film eyes the ₹1,000 crore club soon, cementing Ranveer Singh's biggest career hit.
