Smriti Mandhana, Palash Muchhal Kick Off Wedding Festivities With Vibrant Haldi Ceremony

Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer-filmmaker Palash Muchhal began their wedding celebrations on Friday with a lively Haldi ceremony, two days ahead of their scheduled wedding on November 23. The event, held in the presence of close family, friends and teammates, marked the formal start of the couple’s nuptial rituals.

Mandhana, dressed in a bright yellow ensemble, was seen enjoying the festivities as dhol rhythms set the tone for the morning. The venue, decorated in shades of yellow, reflected the cheerful mood surrounding the World Cup-winning batter, who was showered with haldi by her family and friends.

One of the most emotional moments came when Palash’s sister, singer Palak Muchhal, applied haldi to her brother. Palak shared photos from the ceremony on Instagram, including images featuring her husband, lyricist Mithoon. Palash kept his look simple in a white kurta, while Palak wore an orange suit for the occasion.

Several members of the Indian women’s cricket team joined Mandhana at the ceremony, adding an energetic, celebratory touch to the function. Shafali Verma, Arundhati Reddy, Shreyanka Patil, Renuka Singh Thakur, Radha Yadav and Richa Ghosh were seen dancing with the bride, and videos of their performances quickly went viral. Their presence highlighted the camaraderie the team shares beyond the field.

The ceremony comes a day after Mandhana and Muchhal confirmed their engagement through a choreographed dance reel on Instagram, featuring Jemimah Rodrigues, Radha Yadav, Shreyanka Patil and Arundhati Reddy. On Friday, Palash also posted the proposal video, filmed at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium, where India recently lifted the Women’s World Cup trophy. The clip shows him leading a blindfolded Mandhana to the pitch before proposing.

Mandhana heads into her wedding on the back of an exceptional World Cup campaign, scoring 434 runs in nine inningsthe highest by an Indian in the tournament  including a century and two fifties
