SRK to host Filmfare Awards 2025: Superstar all set to charm the stage once again after 17 years

Shah Rukh Khan will host the 70th Filmfare Awards ceremony. He is going to host Filmfare after 17 years. In the 70th edition of this prestigious award show, He will share the hosting responsibilities with Maniesh Paul and Karan Johar. The actor last hosted this award function in the year 2008.
'The Superstar, The Icon...hold your breath, because the one and only Shah Rukh Khan is going to co-host the most awaited 70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2025 with Gujarat Tourism. Which is happening on October 11 at Eka Arena, Ahmedabad.'- Filmfare has given this information on its official Instagram handle.
According to NDTV news, Shah Rukh Khan has expressed happiness about returning to the Filmfare stage as a host after 17 years. He said, 'Ever since I held the Black Lady in my hands for the first time, Filmfare has been very close to my heart. This journey has been full of love, cinema, and magic. Returning as a host again for the 70th year is very special for me. I promise that this night will be filled with laughter, memories, and a spectacular celebration of films.'
Karan Johar shared his happiness, saying- 'Filmfare is not just an award, it is a legacy that has shaped the story of Indian cinema. Since 2000, I have participated in almost every Filmfare and have also hosted it many times. Being a part of it on the occasion of its 70th anniversary will be a very memorable experience for me.'
The nomination list for the 70th Filmfare Awards was released. In this, the film 'Laapataa Ladies', directed by Kiran Rao, received the most nominations, 13. Additionally, 'Stree' received 8 nominations and 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' received 5 nominations.
Newcomer lead actress of the film Laapataa Ladies, Nitanshi Goel and Pratibha Rant are challenging Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor in the Critic Award for Best Actress category. The film's lead actor Sparsh Shrivastava has also received a nomination in the Critic Award for Best Actor category, along with Randeep Hooda and Rajkummar Rao.
The winners of all categories will be announced on October 11. This is the second time the ceremony has been held in Gujarat.
