Tamannaah’s First Look from V. Shantaram Biopic Unveiled: Appears in Traditional Saree as She Portrays Filmmaker’s Wife, Actress Jayshree

The biographical film on legendary filmmaker V. Shantaram has officially begun production, and the makers have released a new poster revealing actress Tamannaah Bhatia’s look from the project. Tamannaah will be seen playing the role of Jayshree, Shantaram’s wife and a noted actress-singer of her time.
In the newly released poster, Tamannaah appears in a pink Nauvari saree, evoking the elegance of the era Jayshree belonged to. Actor Siddhant Chaturvedi is portraying V. Shantaram, one of Indian cinema’s most influential directors, reformists, and creative visionaries.
Jayshree began her artistic journey in Gujarati theatre before moving to films. She worked in several iconic projects directed by V. Shantaram, including Shakuntala, Dr. Kotnis Ki Amar Kahani, Dahej, and Parchhaiyan. She married Shantaram in 1941, and the couple parted ways in 1956.

The film is being directed by Abhijeet Shirish Deshpande and produced by Rahul Kiran Shantaram, Subhash Kale, and Sarita Ashwin Varde. It is a joint project under Rajkamal Entertainment, Camera Tek Films, and Roaring Rivers Production.
Who Was V. Shantaram?
V. Shantaram was celebrated for bringing powerful social themes to Indian cinema and for his pioneering technical innovations. He co-founded the Prabhat Film Company and later established Rajkamal Kalamandir. His landmark films include Amrit Manthan, Duniya Na Mane, Padosi, Dr. Kotnis Ki Amar Kahani, Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje, and Do Aankhen Barah Haath.
