Yuzvendra Chahal Dismisses Reports of Appearing with Dhanashree Verma in Reality Show The 50

Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has firmly denied reports suggesting that he would appear alongside his former wife, choreographer and social media personality Dhanashree Verma, in the upcoming reality show The 50. The clarification comes amid widespread speculation on social media and entertainment platforms linking the two to the show ahead of its scheduled premiere next month.

Chahal addressed the rumours directly through an official statement shared on his Instagram story on Tuesday. The statement categorically rejected all claims of his participation in any reality television programme. “The news currently circulating about Yuzvendra Chahal participating in any reality show has no truth to it. All these claims are merely speculations and are false,” the statement read. It further added that the cricketer has had no discussions or commitments with any show mentioned in recent reports and urged media outlets and social media users to refrain from sharing unverified information.

The speculation had gained traction following reports that Chahal might feature in The 50, a reality show hosted by filmmaker Farah Khan, which is set to premiere on February 1. The rumours intensified due to Dhanashree Verma’s association with reality television and her reported participation in the same programme, leading to assumptions that the former couple could appear together on screen.

Dhanashree Verma, however, has not issued any public statement responding to the reports or Chahal’s clarification. The show’s makers have also not commented on the matter so far.

The 50, according to host Farah Khan, promises to offer a format distinct from traditional Indian reality shows, focusing on strategy, competition and social dynamics rather than celebrity pairings. Promotional material released so far has not indicated Chahal’s involvement.

Chahal and Dhanashree were married in December 2020 in Gurugram after meeting during the COVID-19 lockdown, when the cricketer enrolled in dance classes conducted by Dhanashree. Their relationship drew significant public attention, particularly on social media. The couple separated in June 2022 and were officially granted a divorce in March 2024.

Following the divorce, Chahal has largely kept his personal life private, though he was occasionally spotted with radio jockey Mahvash, sparking further speculation. Both have consistently maintained that they are close friends and nothing more.

Professionally, Chahal remains focused on his cricketing commitments, while Dhanashree continues to expand her presence across digital platforms and entertainment projects. She was recently seen in the first season of the reality show Rise and Fall, which marked her deeper foray into unscripted television.

With Chahal’s clear denial, the possibility of the former couple appearing together on The 50 has been effectively ruled out, bringing an end to weeks of conjecture.Yuzvendra Chahal Dismisses Reports of Appearing with Dhanashree Verma in Reality Show The 5010
