Registered Post Service Indian Post will discontinue the traditional registered letter from October 1 and start a new service called Registered Speed ​​Post. The move was announced through an official notification on August 18 as part of efforts to modernize and streamline postal services.

Indian Post will discontinue the registered post and start a new service. The Postal Department of India has always been making its special service, registered letter, faster and modern. On August 18, the Postal Department officially announced this.
The notification said, "Registration will be available as a value-added service only for speed post items and will provide recipient-specific delivery."

Registered Speed ​​Post will be started
The post office will discontinue the registered post and start the registered speed post. From October 1, the registered letter will now be available to you as "Registered Speed ​​Post". This new service will also ensure faster delivery with modern technology and air transport.

Earlier, the registered postal service was used to send important documents like court summons, legal notices and divorce. Now this service will provide service in a new way in combination with speed post.

Why is the change being made?
The Indian Postal Department said on August 18 that this change is being made keeping in mind the needs of the customers and the demands of the market. The new service will have the same legal recognition as a registered letter.

The Indian Postal Department is digitizing itself with changing technology. Postmen now have smartphones, which have the Postman Mobile App (PMA). Through this APP, postmen can enter delivery information and send a direct message to the receiver.

Smartphones given to postal employees
The Indian Postal Department has given smartphones to 1.8 lakh postal employees across the country. Apart from this, 21,000 employees are using their personal phones. Letters were sent by road and rail through the registered postal service. This took time for delivery. But now it will be merged with speed post so that letters can be sent via airplane. This will speed up delivery.
