“India’s Top Healthcare Heroes” celebrates doctors, medical professionals and healthcare leaders whose expertise, compassion and commitment continue to make a difference in countless lives. Their service reflects the true spirit of nation-building.
Dr. Himanshu Jagdishchandra Thakkar
Dr. Himanshu Jagdishchandra Thakkar is a nationally recognised ENT surgeon from Rajkot, Gujarat, with 25 years ofdedicated medical practice. Known for complex endoscopic ENT procedures, rare cases and patient-centred care, he has set one record in the India Book of Records and three records in the Limca Book of Records for remarkable ENT surgical achievements. His prestigious honours include three national-level recognitions by the Indian Medical Association the IMA Dr. C. S. Thakar National Award, IMA MedAchievers Award of Merit and IMA Dr. A. K. N. Sinha National Award for Outstanding and Distinguished Services along with several professional and international recognitions. He established Dr. Thakkar’s ENT & Dental Surgical Hospital on 1 July 2007, where he continues to provide advanced ENT care. Beyond surgery, he has contributed through medical publications, public-health awareness, charitable healthcare and rural medical camps. During the post-COVID mucormycosis crisis, he provided free surgical treatment to affected patients at Civil Hospital, Rajkot. He is also the author of Echoes of Compassion: A Doctor’s Journey in ENT, with the entire proceeds donated towards the welfare of children with thalassemia, reflecting his philanthropic commitment to society. His guiding philosophy, “Manav Seva is Prabhu Seva,” reflects his belief that medical excellence becomes meaningful when it serves humanity. His work reaches patients across India and overseas, while his knowledge-sharing initiatives extend beyond geographical boundaries.
Dr. Sarika Sharma
Dr. Sarika Sharma, a Leading Clinical Research Auditor with more than 10 years of experience, has developed her career around clinical research auditing, research quality and patient safety. She has worked with Ranbaxy Laboratories, Ozone and Fortis Clinical Research and currently works as an auditor for Clinical Research Organisations (CROs), bringing strong expertise in evidence-based healthcare. Dr. Sharma is also highlighting the growing concern of hypertension among young adults, challenging the belief that high blood pressure primarily affects older people. Often called the “silent killer,” hypertension may develop without noticeable symptoms while affecting vital organs such as the heart, kidneys and blood vessels. She emphasises the importance of early detection, regular blood pressure monitoring and preventive healthcare. Healthy nutrition, physical activity, adequate sleep and effective stress management can help reduce risk. Dr. Rasmita Raiguru
Dr. Rasmita Raiguru, a fifth generation Ayurvedacharya from Odisha’s distinguished Raiguru family of traditional physicians, is carrying a 125 year heritage of Vedic healing into the modern healthcare landscape. Her great grandfather, Rajvaidya Chaturbhuja Raiguru, served as Raj Vaidya of the erstwhile Sonepur state and earned recognition for his Ayurvedic expertise and humanitarian service during cholera epidemics.
After earning her BAMS from Utkal University in 2011, Dr. Rasmita became the first female Ayurvedic clinical practitioner in Sonepur district. Her professional journey spans central government healthcare initiatives, including RBSK, corporate experience with Dabur India Limited, and private clinical practice. Today, through The Raiguru Ayurveda, an MSME registered and trademark protected Ayurvedic enterprise, she is taking authentic Ayurveda beyond geographical boundaries through online consultations for patients across India and internationally. Her pioneering work in Ayurvedic Garbha Samskara, along with the Women Achiever Award 2022, reflects her commitment to preserving tradition while embracing technology for a healthier future.
Dr. Niti Rajpal
Dr. Niti Rajpal is a physiotherapist and wellness professional with 17 years of experience dedicated to helping people recover movement, manage pain and regain confidence in their everyday lives. At Guru Kripa Physiotherapy Clinic, she works with patients across sports, orthopaedic, neurological, paediatric and geriatric physiotherapy. Her clinical expertise includes Dry Needling Therapy, Cupping Therapy and Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM). She is also a certified Diet Consultant, enabling her to approach health and wellness from a broader perspective that considers both physical recovery and lifestyle. Dr. Ruupa Rao, also known as Dr. Roopa B, is a psychologist, ICF PCC Executive Coach, psychological counsellor, trainer, facilitator and Positive Psychology Coach with more than 20 years of professional experience across psychology, education, coaching, corporate training and human development. Her multidisciplinary academic background spans Computer Science, Psychology and Business Administration. She holds a PhD in Computer Science, postgraduate qualifications in Psychology, an MBA and a PG Diploma in Clinical Psychology, supported by professional certifications in coaching, positive psychology, hypnotherapy, NLP, nutrition, sleep and related areas. At Kayamanas Institute of Psychological Science, she works across mental health education, behavioural development, executive coaching, counselling, leadership development and holistic wellness.
