Deepak Sahni's New Venture UN:BLOC Opens Enrollment for First 300 Patients

BLOC, the healthcare venture founded by Healthians founder Deepak Sahni, went live today with the launch of its website and the opening of applications for its founding cohort of 300 patients.

Built around a treatment system the company calls Block Medicine, the platform focuses on chronic conditions including high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid disorders, PCOS, and obesity, conditions typically treated as lifelong. UN:BLOC's approach, which draws on Ayurveda and modern medicine together, is to identify and address the underlying drivers of these conditions rather than manage symptoms indefinitely.

Patients can enroll through the website by paying ₹2499 for BlocMarker™, UN:BLOC's ₹2,499 one-time assessment, which draws on a detailed medical questionnaire covering personal and family health history, existing conditions, and lifestyle, supplemented by lab reports and wearable data where patients have them. UnblocPanel™, UN:BLOC's multidisciplinary panel of doctors, reviews each case to identify a patient's specific "blocks", the term the company uses for the underlying physiological drivers behind a condition. A preliminary read is shared immediately after the assessment, with a fully reviewed result following within 48–72 hours. Patients who continue into treatment see the ₹2,499 credited toward UnblocProtocol™, the resulting treatment plan.

Sahni built the model around his own case. Diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes a decade ago, he ended up on twelve medications with no clear answer for why his condition kept worsening. Working with a set of doctors to trace the pattern of blocks in his own body, he cut his medication load by 75% within 90 days, with the process supervised and tracked throughout. Since then, UN:BLOC's clinical team has expanded on that work across several hundred case studies, treating more than 30 patients beyond Sahni ahead of today's public launch.

"I spent years being treated for symptoms while no one asked why they kept coming back. That question became the starting point for UN:BLOC, and the answer changed everything for me personally," said Deepak Sahni, Founder of UN:BLOC.

Block Medicine, the clinical framework behind the platform, combines Ayurvedic principles with modern diagnostics and has so far mapped 51 biological blocks that clinicians use to trace symptoms to their root cause. Left unaddressed, conditions like hypertension and diabetes carry well-documented risks to the nervous system, including nerve damage, impaired circulation to the brain, and links to cognitive decline. UN:BLOC's model targets these root drivers early, aiming to reduce that longer-term neurological burden instead of managing symptoms year after year.

"What drew me to this framework is that it doesn't ask us to choose between systems of medicine," said Dr. Ashish Kalla, Founding Clinical Partner & Chief Clinical Officer. "It asks us to look at a patient's complete history, biology, and lifestyle together, and follow that evidence to an actual cause instead of stopping at a label. That is a more rigorous way to practise medicine, not a less rigorous one."

A medical board spanning multiple disciplines guides UN:BLOC's clinical work: Dr. Joy Chakraborty (Internal Medicine), Dr. Piyush Ojha (Neurology), Dr. Pranaw Kumar Jha (Nephrology), Dr. Anurag Passi (Cardiology), and Dr. Sajat Chiwane (Cardiology).

"Healthcare treatments, globally, have largely been built around managing symptoms at scale," Sahni said. "We think the next decade belongs to whoever can find and fix the actual root cause, at scale. That's the bet we're making with UN:BLOC," he added.

Cricketer Yuvraj Singh is among UN:BLOC's investors and has joined its founding team, his second investment alongside Sahni, after backing diagnostics company Healthians more than a decade ago.

Applications for the 300-patient founding cohort are open now at unbloc.com.
