UP News: Sugarcane juice will be available in tetra packs, will remain safe throughout the year; Preparations to set up plant in Rohilkhand

Sugarcane juice will now be available in tetra packs in Uttar Pradesh, so that it will remain safe throughout the year. On the initiative of former national president of Indian Institute of Technology (IIA) Ashok Agarwal, scientists of IIT Roorkee have developed a technology to keep sugarcane safe. There is a plan to set up the first unit in Rohilkhand region. Scientists gave a presentation in front of the Chief Secretary.

Like fruit juice, buttermilk or other drinks, now there is a plan to provide sugarcane juice in tetra packs. It will be available in shops throughout the year with the original taste. On the initiative of former national president of IIA Ashok Agarwal, scientists of IIT Roorkee have developed a technology to keep sugarcane safe throughout the year.

Now the patent is awaited, after which there is a plan to set up the first unit of tetra pack in Rohilkhand region. The team of scientists has given a presentation in front of the Chief Secretary regarding the method by which sugarcane juice will be kept safe in tetra packs, what will be its quality, how will the original taste be maintained.

Ashok Agarwal, former national president of Indian Industries Association (IIA), said that like Shahjahanpur, sugarcane crop is grown in abundance in many other districts. Its juice is easily available during the season, but it cannot be preserved after that.

On April 13, in a seminar with entrepreneurs, farmers and scientists of IIT Roorkee in Saharanpur, the topic was raised that if sugarcane juice is preserved for a long time and brought to the market in packing like a cold drink, then farmers will get a big benefit. Self-employment opportunities will also increase. Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh, who was present on the stage, told the IIT scientists that if they do research on preserving sugarcane juice for a long time, then the state government will bear all the expenses.

The scientists agreed to this and started the work. Sugarcane juice spoils quickly due to the bacteria and oxidation present in it. Scientists developed a technique while looking for a way to control the bacteria, so that sugarcane juice can be made drinkable throughout the year.

On Friday in Lucknow, Prof. Vibhor Rastogi of Paper and Packaging Department of IIT Roorkee, Prof. Abhijeet of Polymer and Process Engineering Department, Technical Officer Prof. Anurag Kulshreshtha presented this technology in front of the Chief Secretary. Now the scientists will patent it and give it to the state government.
The scientists who did the research said that sugarcane juice packs are being sold on some online platforms, but the time limit for use is less. To keep it safe, many other elements are added, which spoil the original taste. With the technology used by the scientists, sugarcane juice will be ready for use throughout the year without adulteration. To keep it more safe, it will be given in tetra packs instead of plastic bottles.Trump's claim of trade deficit with India is not true, America is in surplus, know how (1)
