Final Call for Northern Railway's 4,116 Apprentice Slots as Deadline Looms
Digital Desk
With just one day left, the Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) Northern Railway is reminding eligible candidates to submit applications for 4,116 Act Apprentice positions before the portal closes at midnight on December 24, 2025.
The drive, launched on November 25 under Notification No. RRC/NR/05/2025, targets training under the Apprentices Act, 1961, across five key clusters. Lucknow Division leads with 1,397 slots, followed by Delhi (1,137), Ambala (934), Firozpur (632), and Moradabad (16).
Applicants must have cleared Class 10 with a minimum 50% aggregate (except in some subjects) and possess a National Trade Certificate (ITI) in a notified trade from NCVT or SCVT.
The age bracket is 15 to 24 years as of December 24, 2025, with relaxations for reserved categories, PwD, and ex-servicemen as per rules.
A ₹100 application fee applies to general, OBC, and EWS candidates via online payment; women, SC/ST, and PwD applicants are exempt.
No written exam is involved. Selection hinges on a merit list prepared from averaged percentages in matriculation and ITI marks. Shortlisted candidates proceed to document verification and a medical fitness test.
During training, apprentices earn a stipend between ₹7,000 and ₹10,000 monthly, varying by trade. Note that completion offers no automatic railway job but equips trainees with skills valued in future hirings.
To apply, head to rrcnr.org, click the apprentice engagement link, register with basic details, log in, complete the form, upload photo, signature, and certificates, pay if required, and submit. Download the confirmation page.
Railway sources expect heavy traffic tomorrow and advise applying early. This annual intake remains a popular entry point for thousands of ITI graduates eyeing hands-on experience in one of the country's busiest zones.
