GATE 2026 Website Launched, IIT Guwahati to Conduct Exam

The official website for GATE 2026 has been launched. IIT Guwahati will organize the exam, and the registration process will begin from August 25. Candidates can check details online.

There is big news for the students preparing for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2026). The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering for the year 2026 will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT GUWAHATI). The website gate2026.iitg.ac.in has been launched by IIT Guwahati for the admission process. Along with this, the registration and exam dates have also been announced by the institute.

To participate in GATE 2026 exam, applications will start from August 25. The application window without late fee will continue till September 25 and the window with late fee will continue till October 6.

Application start date: 25 August 2025
Registration/Application Last Date: 25 September 2025 (without late fee)
Last date to fill the form with late fee: 6 October 2025
Exam date: 7, 8 14 and 15 February 2026
Result release date: 19 March 2025

Application Fee
Along with filling the application form, candidates will also have to pay the prescribed fee, application forms filled without fee will not be valid and will be automatically cancelled. Candidates will have to deposit Rs 1200 in the regular period and Rs 2500 in the extended period as fee. Apart from this, SC / ST / PWD category will have to pay Rs 1000 in regular dates and Rs 1500 in extended dates.

Important documents
According to the details given on the website, the list of required documents will be released soon by IIT Guwahati. Looking at the previous years, all the educational documents will be required for admission. Along with this, color passport photograph, signature, photo ID and category certificate will have to be submitted wherever applicable. Apart from this, the candidate will have to submit a valid photo ID for which you must have any one of photo identity card, Aadhar card, passport, PAN card, voter ID card, driving license etc. The new document list will be updated here as soon as it is released.
