The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially started the online application process for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) 2026, marking the beginning of admissions to undergraduate programmes in central, state, and participating universities across the country.
Eligible candidates who have passed or are appearing in the Class 12 examination can apply through the official CUET portal by completing the registration, filling in academic and personal details, and uploading the required documents. The entrance test will serve as a single-window examination for admission to a wide range of undergraduate courses in universities affiliated with the CUET system.
According to NTA officials, the application process includes multiple stages such as online registration, form filling, fee payment, and confirmation. Candidates are advised to carefully select their preferred universities, programmes, and subject combinations while submitting the form, as changes may not be permitted after final submission.
CUET-UG has been introduced to ensure a uniform and transparent admission process, reducing the burden of multiple entrance exams for students. The exam assesses candidates on subjects studied in Class 12, along with language and general aptitude components, depending on the chosen course and institution.
NTA has urged applicants to regularly check the official website for updates related to application deadlines, correction windows, exam dates, and admit card release. Students are also advised to complete the application well in advance to avoid last-minute technical issues.
Further details regarding the examination schedule, city intimation slips, and result declaration will be announced in due course. With CUET-UG continuing as a key gateway to higher education, the 2026 application cycle is expected to see strong participation from aspirants nationwide.
