The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for 35 districts of Madhya Pradesh, including Bhopal and Indore. With the southwest monsoon remaining active, the state has already received around 13 inches of rainfall, nearly 35% of the seasonal average, and heavy to very heavy rain is expected over the next four days.

Heavy monsoon rains continue to disrupt normal life across several parts of India. Ten people have died in Assam in the last 24 hours due to floods, while two people lost their lives after being swept away by floodwaters in Jammu and Kashmir.
