US President Donald Trump has threatened countries imposing digital service tax. He said that heavy tariffs will be imposed on such countries and chip exports will be banned. Trump spoke in a tough tone against countries imposing taxes on American tech companies like Alphabet Meta and Amazon.
US President Donald Trump has once again threatened the world. On Monday, he threatened that the US will impose heavy tariffs and ban chip exports against any country that imposes digital service tax or related rules on American tech companies.
Trump's statement is a strong message to countries that are imposing taxes on American giant tech companies like Alphabet, Meta and Amazon.
'Chinese companies are getting exemptions and we...'
Trump said in a harsh tone on his social media platform Truth Social that he would not tolerate any attack against America's "great tech companies". He clearly said that digital tax, digital service rules and digital market regulations are designed to harm and discriminate against American technology.
Trump also angrily said that these rules give complete exemption to the big tech companies of China, which is absolutely intolerable.
'We will ban our valuable technology and exports'
He wrote, "The digital tax, digital service law and digital market rules are designed to harm and discriminate against American technology. They, shamelessly, give complete exemption to China's biggest tech companies. This must stop now and stop now!"
He further said that America will also impose export ban on its very valuable technology and chips.
Trump clearly warned, "I give notice to all countries that impose digital taxes, laws, rules or regulations that if these discriminatory steps are not removed, then I, as the President of the United States, will impose heavy additional tariffs on their country's exports to the United States."
