Blast at BNP Rally in Pakistan Kills 14

A powerful explosion at a BNP party rally left 14 dead and 35 injured, sparking panic and chaos.

Pakistan has once again been shaken by a massive explosion. 14 people died in a massive explosion in Quetta, Balochistan. While 35 people were seriously injured. The Chief Minister of Balochistan has condemned the attack and ordered an investigation. Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar has given the number of dead and injured.

According to the police, initial information suggests that the target of the attack was BNP leader Akhtar Mengal and his convoy. However, Mengal remained safe in the attack. Security forces immediately cordoned off the area and emergency services rushed the injured to nearby hospitals. The condition of many injured is said to be critical.

BNP spokesperson Sajid Tarin told the media that 13 party members were killed in the blast that occurred shortly after Akhtar Mengal's convoy passed the scene. Akhtar Mengal confirmed his safety in a social media post and expressed grief over the death of his party workers. He wrote in a social media post - Thank you for your prayers. Allahu Akbar, I am safe. However, I am very saddened by the death of our workers. About 15 people have been martyred. Many are injured. They stood with me and gave their lives for us. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten. May Allah grant them paradise and give patience to their families. This is a debt on me, and I will fulfill it responsibly.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti condemned the attack, calling it a cowardly act of enemies of peace. He said that the purpose of such violence is to spoil the atmosphere of the area and spread fear. Bugti also demanded high-quality medical help for the injured and an investigation into the matter. He has given orders. He also urged the law enforcement agencies to arrest the culprits of the attack as soon as possible. A special committee has been formed to investigate the incident and submit a report. Meanwhile, security has been tightened in Quetta.
