Canada Election 2025: Liberals Lead Big; Jagmeet Singh Loses Burnaby Seat

In the 2025 Canada Election, the Liberal Party is heading toward a major victory. NDP leader Jagmeet Singh suffered a surprising defeat in Burnaby Central, delivering a setback to Khalistani sympathizers and shifting the political landscape significantly.
Counting of votes is going on after the voting ended in the Canadian federal election. In the initial trends, the Liberal Party led by Prime Minister Mark Carney is seen getting a clear lead. The party is moving towards a majority, while the main rival Conservative Party seems to be lagging behind in some seats. At present, the Liberal Party is leading in 164 seats, while the Conservative Party is leading in 147 seats. Bloc Québécois is ahead in 23 and NDP in 8 seats. Other parties have not been able to get much success so far.
A major political upset has also been seen in this election. National Democratic Party (NDP) chief and Sikh leader Jagmeet Singh, considered a supporter of Khalistan, has lost the election from Burnaby Central seat. His party seems to be limited to only 12 seats, due to which the national status of the party is also in danger. In the last election, the NDP got 24 seats. According to analysts, this result is considered a big setback for Khalistan supporters.
