In view of the increasing tension between India and Pakistan, 29 airports in 8 states of the country have been closed till May 10. This decision has been taken in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. High alert has been issued at Srinagar Airport and flight services to many cities have been temporarily stopped.
Big announcement of Indigo and Air India Indigo Airlines has cancelled all flights to Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Kishangarh and Rajkot till 12 midnight of May 10. A total of 165 flights have been cancelled. Air India has also postponed all flights to Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot till 05:29 am on May 10.
Strict security arrangements at airports The Civil Aviation Department has issued a new advisory, according to which passengers will now have to undergo double security checks. Airlines have appealed to passengers to reach the airport at least 3 hours before the flight. Delhi Airport has clarified that operations are normal, but some flights have been affected due to airspace and security.
Akasa Air has set the limit of hand baggage at 7 kg.- All domestic and commercial flights in Amritsar have been stopped.
- Chandigarh Airport has been brought into the use of the Air Force.
- IndiGo canceled flights to 11 cities including Gwalior.
- 20 flights of various airlines have been canceled from Delhi Airport.
They will be given full refund
Relief to Defense Personnel Defense personnel who have booked Air India or Air India Express tickets till May 31 will be given a full refund. Along with this, one-time free rescheduling facility will also be available till June 30.
No impact on oil supply Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has clarified that there is sufficient stock of fuel across the country and the supply line is running normally. Citizens have been appealed not to do panic buying.
