Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge in Alberta, Canada on Tuesday to attend the G7 Summit. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney welcomed Prime Minister Modi at the G7 Summit venue.

During the summit, Modi will meet many leaders and share his views on important global issues. Modi's participation in this summit and bilateral talks with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney are also expected to end the sourness in India-Canada relations.

Meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met British Prime Minister Keir Starmer during the 51st G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Canada. PM Modi's visit will start from Cyprus and end in Croatia
This visit is part of Prime Minister Modi's official visit to three countries which will start from Cyprus and end in Croatia. Modi wrote in a post on X, 'I have reached Calgary, Canada to participate in the G-7 summit. I will meet various leaders at the summit and share my views on important global issues. I will also emphasize on the priorities of the Global South.'

The Prime Minister will also hold several bilateral meetings apart from the summit. Prime Minister Modi, who reached Canada for the summit, also met South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. PM Modi himself has given information about this on X.

PM Modi wrote - 'It was a pleasure to talk to South African President Cyril Ramaphosa at the G7 summit.' Not only this, Modi wrote that it was also a pleasure to meet my friend Australian Prime Minister Albanese during the G-7 summit.

The conference is being held a month after Operation Sindoor
India's acting High Commissioner to Canada Naik said that India will talk about energy security, innovation and new technologies like AI in the G-7 summit. The G-7 summit is an annual gathering of the leaders of the US, Britain, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, Canada and the European Union (EU). By the way, this conference is being held a month after India's Operation Sindoor.
In response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22, India carried out air strikes on May 7 under Operation Sindoor, targeting terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
