Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to skip the upcoming G7 Summit in Canada, marking his first absence in six years. While official reasons remain undisclosed, diplomatic sources suggest the decision may be linked to ongoing tensions with Canada over Khalistani separatist activities and the lack of a formal invitation so far.

G7 Summit: PM Narendra Modi will not attend the G7 summit to be held in Albert, Canada. This will be the first time in six years that Prime Minister Modi will not attend the G7 summit. The G7 countries will meet in Albert, Canada from June 15 to June 17. However, India has not yet received an official invitation. However, there is also a possibility that Prime Minister Modi will not go to Canada. The reason behind PM Modi not going to Canada is said to be the pro-Khalistan stance of the Canadian government.

According to the Times of India report, the Canadian spokesperson for the G7 did not confirm that India would be invited to the summit. Tensions between India and Canada have increased significantly since the year 2023, due to which former Canadian PM Justin Trudeau also adopted a very harsh attitude towards India. This year Canada is going to organize the G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Albert. Canada has not announced a guest list or who it has invited, but there are several reports in the Canadian media that official invitations have been sent to South Africa, Ukraine, Australia and Brazil.
