A US lawmaker cautioned Pakistan against responding to airstrikes, emphasizing support for India on counter-terrorism efforts. The statement highlights strong international backing for India's stance on terrorism.
US MP Warns Pakistan Against Retaliation on Airstrike

India's Operation Sindoor has created a stir against terrorists in Pakistan, due to which Pakistan has threatened retaliation. In this context, a US MP has warned Pakistan that it should stay away from such thinking. US Democratic MP Ro Khanna called Pakistan's Army Chief General Asim Munir a 'dictator' and said that Pakistan should avoid taking any adverse steps on India's possible response.
India carried out missile attacks on nine terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) on the night of 6-7 May, which has been named 'Operation Sindoor'. In a conversation with CNN, Ro Khanna said that both countries have nuclear weapons, so it is extremely important to reduce tension at this time. Innocent civilians lost their lives in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, after which India launched an effective retaliation, which helped wipe out some terrorist networks. At present, it is most important to calm the situation.
He said that the US should understand the serious situation between India and Pakistan and assist in resolving it diplomatically. The MP also mentioned that the British had promoted partition and religious divisions between Hindus and Muslims. We should play the role of an honest mediator keeping in mind the complexities of the region.
Direct attack on Munir, demand for release of Imran Khan
Ro Khanna termed Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir as a dictator and said that democracy has almost ended in Pakistan. He alleged that Asim Munir did not allow legitimate elections and put Imran Khan in jail, which has eliminated honest voices there. Khanna appealed to the US to put pressure on Pakistan, saying that Pakistan is dependent on IMF loans. He suggested that the US should demand that Imran Khan be released, no retaliatory attacks be carried out and fair elections be held.
Supports Indian government's efforts for justice
This is not the first time an American lawmaker has supported India. Earlier, Senator Jim Risch, chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, supported India's efforts to bring justice to the Pahalgam attackers. However, he also expressed concern over the growing tension between India and Pakistan. Risch said in a recent post that the growing tension between India and Pakistan is worrying. While supporting the Indian government's efforts for justice, he appealed to the citizens of both sides to exercise caution and respect.
