Despite the advancement of the monsoon season, Madhya Pradesh continues to face a significant rainfall deficit across large parts of the state. While isolated districts have received spells of heavy showers, widespread and sustained rainfall has remained elusive, leaving the state around 15% below its normal rainfall for this time of the season. According to the latest weather assessment, 39 districts are currently recording below-normal rainfall, although meteorologists expect the monsoon to regain momentum after July 20 with the formation of a fresh weather system.
