At the Govt Fever Hospital in Hyderabad's Nallakunta, OPD attendance has risen by 25-30 per cent, with 650-700 patients visiting daily. Doctors report that cases of viral fevers, dengue, chikungunya and typhoid have increased over the past few weeks as weather conditions become favourable for the spread of infections.

Bengaluru has seen a similar trend, with hospitals reporting approximately a 20-30 per cent increase in patients presenting with viral illnesses compared to the previous month. The most common symptoms include fever, sore throat, cough, body aches and fatigue.

The India Meteorological Department has forecast below-normal rainfall for July, with monthly rainfall expected to be less than 94 per cent of the long period average. This unusual weather pattern, coupled with a 40 per cent rainfall deficit in June, makes it even more critical for individuals to take proactive steps toward strengthening their natural defences.

Health experts emphasise that the most effective immunity boosters are often found in Indian kitchens. Turmeric, a staple in every household, contains curcumin, a powerful compound with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
