Got your shoes soaked in the rain? Don’t worry! Use these simple and effective home remedies to dry them quickly and eliminate foul odor. Say goodbye to dampness and unpleasant smells with items easily available at home.
Shoes getting wet during monsoon is a common problem, and if they are not dried properly in time, bacteria, mold, odor and even rotting can start in them. Today we will tell you some smart and effective hacks, with which you can dry wet shoes in the rain quickly and safely.
Magic of newspaper
Tear old newspaper into small pieces and fill it inside the shoes. Newspaper absorbs moisture very fast. Keep changing the newspaper every 3-4 hours.
Use of rice or silica gel
Fill packets of rice or silica gel in a cloth bag and put it inside the shoes. These things absorb moisture quickly and also prevent odor.
Take the help of a fan
Open the shoes and place them in front of the fan, remove the laces or insoles and dry them separately. Drying with a direct heater or blower can damage the material of the shoes.
Using a Hair Dryer
Set the hair dryer on “low heat” and blow dry slowly from a distance of 6-8 inches from the shoes. Do not apply hot air for a long time, otherwise the material may tear.
The Magic of Tea Bags
Place used dry tea bags inside the shoes. They absorb moisture and also reduce odor.
Moisture and mold can grow more from the bottom. Place an old newspaper, towel or grill-like stand under the shoes.
Clean and Disinfect Shoes
Clean the shoes with lukewarm water and a little vinegar, then dry them. This prevents the growth of bacteria and mold.
What not to do
Do not dry in direct sunlight (if the sun is very strong), it may fade the color or harden the material.
