‘Bharat Solar Yatra’ Flagged Off from Ayodhya: A Nationwide Mission for Renewable Energy

The Bharat Solar Yatra, an awareness campaign led by YouTuber Purushottam Pandey, was flagged off from Ayodhya on India’s 79th Independence Day (August 15).

The Yatra seeks to educate citizens on the benefits of solar energy while promoting the government’s flagship initiatives—Har Ghar Surya Yojana and PM-KUSUM Yojana—aimed at transforming India into a Viksit Bharat.

25,000 km, 180 Days, Every District

The nationwide journey will cover nearly 25,000 kilometers across most districts of India in 180 days, engaging with citizens, farmers, and communities to encourage the adoption of renewable energy.

Partnership for Reliable Solar Solutions

The initiative has received support from INTER TECH, a company specializing in Marconite earthing solutions, known for their durability of over 50 years. These systems are designed to enhance the safety and reliability of solar installations.

A company representative remarked: “The Bharat Solar Yatra demonstrates how renewable energy and Made in India solutions must go hand in hand. With durable earthing systems, we ensure that solar installations remain dependable for decades.”

Endorsement from MNRE

Mr. Arun Tripathi, Advisor to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Delhi, lauded the initiative, saying: “This Yatra is a commendable effort to connect citizens with schemes like Har Ghar Surya and PM-KUSUM. Public awareness is the key to making solar energy a household reality.”

Towards a Solar-Powered India

By embarking on Independence Day, Purushottam Pandey has symbolically tied the Yatra to the nation’s vision of self-reliance. Over the next six months, the journey is expected to inspire thousands to adopt rooftop solar panels, conserve energy, and contribute to a cleaner, safer, and sustainable future for India.
