Chandrayaan-5: After Operation Sindoor, India Gears Up – Setback for Pakistan, China & Turkey

Following the success of Operation Sindoor, India accelerates preparations for Chandrayaan-5. The ambitious lunar mission marks a strategic and scientific leap, posing significant geopolitical implications for rivals like Pakistan, China, and Turkey.

Chandrayaan-5: Amid the success of Operation Sindoor and the Indo-Pakistan conflict, India has taken a big decision. Indian Space Agency ISRO has started preparations for Chandrayaan-5. Chandrayaan-5 will establish India's dominance in space. It will also give a big blow to Pakistan-China and Turkey. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) announced on Thursday (May 15, 2025) that it has held the third face-to-face technical meeting (TIM-3) with the Japanese Space Agency JAXA for the Chandrayaan-5/Lupex (Lunar Polar Exploration) mission. ISRO said that officials, project officials and technical team members of the Indian Space Agency, JAXA and Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) met on May 13 to 14. ISRO said that Chandrayaan-5/LoopEx mission will prove to be an important milestone in India's lunar exploration mission, which envisages landing of Indian astronauts on the Moon by 2040.

According to ISRO, Chandrayaan-5/LoopEx mission will be the fifth in the Chandrayaan series of lunar missions, building on the legacy of Chandrayaan-1, Chandrayaan-2 (orbiter-based lunar exploration), Chandrayaan-3 (lander-rover based in-situ exploration) and the upcoming Chandrayaan-4 (India's first lunar sample return mission).
