Amarnath Yatra 2026: J&K Administration Issues Fresh Advisory, Urges Pilgrims to Follow Registration and Safety Guidelines

As the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 continues with thousands of devotees arriving in Jammu and Kashmir every day, the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), J&K, has issued a fresh public advisory asking pilgrims to strictly follow registration norms and safety guidelines to ensure a smooth and secure pilgrimage.

The administration said the advisory has been issued to regulate pilgrim movement, maintain safety, and comply with the daily capacity fixed for the pilgrimage.

Key Guidelines for Pilgrims

  • Daily pilgrim movement is being regulated in accordance with the directions of the Supreme Court. Authorities have urged devotees to cooperate with the prescribed daily limits.

  • Pilgrims must complete their advance registration before travelling to Jammu and Kashmir. Only registered yatris will be allowed to undertake the pilgrimage as per their allotted schedule.

  • The administration clarified that Tatkal (on-the-spot) registration is available only in limited numbers and is subject to availability. Devotees have been advised not to depend on spot registration.

  • Pilgrims without prior registration have been requested to wait until they receive their allotted travel date instead of proceeding directly to the base camps.

  • Registered yatris must begin their journey only on the date mentioned in their registration. Early arrival will not permit early movement on the Yatra route.

  • Devotees who have already reached Jammu and Kashmir without valid registration have been asked to remain patient and wait for their turn instead of attempting to proceed towards the shrine.

  • Officials reiterated that every registered pilgrim will get an opportunity to undertake the Amarnath Yatra according to the prescribed procedure and daily carrying capacity.

  • The administration has also appealed to all pilgrims to maintain discipline, cooperate with security personnel and local authorities, and follow all instructions issued during the pilgrimage for everyone's safety.

Safety Remains Top Priority

The Jammu and Kashmir administration stated that ensuring the safety, security, and smooth movement of pilgrims remains its highest priority. Authorities have urged devotees to respect the established procedures so that the pilgrimage can continue in an orderly and peaceful manner.

The advisory concludes with an appeal to pilgrims to follow the rules, respect the registration process, ensure safety, seek blessings, and together make the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 a safe, spiritual, and memorable experience.
