Authorities confirm readiness for conducting SIR in Karnataka; know which documents will be required for the process.
A Special Intensive Revision (SIR) to correct the voter list in Karnataka is about to begin, awaiting approval from the Election Commission. The 2002 voter list will be used as the basis for the correction of 54 million voters. 58,000 booth-level officers will conduct door-to-door verification. The criteria for submitting documents will depend on age.
This work will be done based on the 2002 voter list in the state. This was the last time a thorough revision was conducted. Only voters whose names were added later will be required to provide documents. Discussions with political parties have been completed, and training modules are ready for district election officers and registration officers. Datasets have also been sent.
