Officials said the explosion occurred at around 7:30 pm while mixing metal and acid. Five workers were present at the factory at the time. Vivekanand Kadam, head of the Palghar District Disaster Management Cell, said the explosion was a highly reactive process.
One worker died on the spot
He said one worker died on the spot, while others suffered severe burns. The injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital where they are undergoing treatment. The condition of the two workers is currently reported to be stable.
Emergency teams, including firefighters and disaster management personnel, arrived at the scene immediately after the explosion and brought the situation under control. Local police are investigating the incident. A report from the authorities is awaited before registering a case.
