According to news agency ANI, there were 242 passengers on board the plane (Gujarat plane crash news today). After the plane crash in the residential area of Meghani Nagar, clouds of smoke are visible for several kilometers.

According to preliminary information, the incident occurred during routine operations, after which an immediate emergency response was made. The Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services Department deployed more than five fire fighting vehicles at the spot.
The DGCA said that two pilots and 10 support staff were also present in the plane at the time of the accident.
The pilot of the plane was Captain Sumit Sabharwal and he was accompanied by First Officer Clive Kunder.
There were 53 British, 1 Canadian and 7 Portuguese people on board the plane.
