Bird Hit Forces IndiGo Flight to Emergency Land in Patna

An IndiGo flight en route to Delhi made an emergency landing in Patna after a bird strike. Quick action by the crew averted a major accident, ensuring passenger safety.

An IndiGo flight going from Patna to Delhi had to make an emergency landing at Patna airport due to a bird hit. After landing, this flight has been canceled, and IndiGo is arranging another flight. There were a total of 175 passengers on board the plane. All the passengers are safe in the flight, and the plane managed to return safely due to a bird hit soon after takeoff.

An IndiGo flight going to Delhi returned to Patna's Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport after taking off on Wednesday morning. This return was due to a technical fault in one of the engines due to a bird hit. Airport officials said that all 175 passengers and crew members on board the plane are safe in this incident.

Patna Airport said in a statement that IGO5009 flight, which took off from Patna to Delhi at 8:42 am, suffered a bird hit incident. During inspection, a dead bird was found in some pieces on the runway.

The flight was provided with the necessary information through the Approach Control Unit. According to the message received from the unit, the flight requested to return to Patna due to vibration in one of the engines. Meanwhile, local stand-by was declared and the flight landed safely on runway 7 at 9:03 am Indian time. All the passengers on board the flight are safe.

Flights will be checked at the airport. Officials have informed that airlines are making alternative arrangements to take the passengers to their destination.
