30% of Indian Tourists Cancel Travel Plans Amid Rising Tensions

A growing boycott movement against Turkey and Azerbaijan is taking hold in India, leading to a significant drop in tourism bookings. Approximately 30% of Indian travelers have reportedly cancelled their planned trips to the two countries, citing political concerns and rising public sentiment.

At present, Indian tourists are not only not making new bookings for these two countries, but are also cancelling the bookings already made. Tourist companies are also not taking new bookings. According to EaseMyTrip, 22 percent of bookings for Turkey and 30 percent of bookings for Azerbaijan have been cancelled. Indian tourists are now preferring safer options like Georgia, Serbia, Greece, Thailand and Vietnam.
