PM Modi to Visit Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand from July 6; Focus on Strategic Partnerships

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a six-day official visit to Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand from July 6 to 11, aimed at strengthening India's strategic partnerships, economic cooperation and regional engagement with the Indo-Pacific nations.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the Prime Minister's three-nation tour will begin in Indonesia, where he will remain from July 6 to 8. During the visit, Modi is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, defence, maritime security and connectivity.
The Prime Minister is also expected to interact with members of the Indian diaspora in Jakarta and visit the UNESCO World Heritage site Prambanan Temple in Yogyakarta, reflecting the long-standing cultural ties between the two countries.
In the second leg of the tour, Modi will travel to Melbourne, Australia, from July 8 to 10. He is slated to meet Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Governor-General Sam Mostyn. The discussions are expected to focus on enhancing bilateral cooperation in defence, critical minerals, education, clean energy and emerging technologies.
During his stay in Australia, the Prime Minister will also participate in the India-Australia CEO Forum, where he is expected to engage with leading business executives to promote investment opportunities and deepen economic collaboration between the two countries. An interaction with the Indian community is also on the agenda.
The final leg of the visit will take Modi to Auckland, New Zealand, from July 10 to 11, marking the first official visit by an Indian Prime Minister to New Zealand in nearly four decades. Invited by New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, Modi is expected to hold wide-ranging discussions covering trade, investment, defence cooperation, agriculture, education and people-to-people ties.
The visit is being viewed as a significant step in further strengthening India's engagement with the Indo-Pacific region and expanding cooperation with key strategic partners. Officials said the tour will reinforce India's commitment to fostering stronger diplomatic, economic and cultural relations while advancing shared regional interests.
The Ministry of External Affairs stated that the Prime Minister's engagements across the three countries will focus on enhancing bilateral partnerships and exploring new avenues of cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
