Countdown Begins for Shubhanshu Shukla’s Return

The Dragon capsule carrying Shubhanshu Shukla is heading back to Earth from space at a speed of 28,000 kmph. It is expected to land on the California coast at 3 PM today.

The countdown for Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla's return to Earth has begun. Shubhanshu Shukla's spacecraft Dragon is moving towards Earth at a speed of 28 thousand kilometers per hour. The spacecraft Dragon of the Axiom-4 mission is moving rapidly towards Earth after separating from the International Space Station after about 18 days. After a journey of about 23 hours, his Dragon spacecraft will splash down on the coast of California at 3 pm. At the time of reentry, the temperature of his spacecraft will reach about 2,500°C.

The country is eagerly waiting for the return of Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla. At the same time, after overcoming every risk, today the moment will come when every crew of this mission will step on Earth safely.

All four astronauts left for Earth from the International Space Station a day earlier on July 14 at 4:45 pm. This spacecraft is coming back with more than 263 kg of cargo. It will include NASA's hardware and data of more than 60 experiments. This is very important for space research.

Shubhanshu Shukla's spacecraft Dragon is currently moving towards Earth at a speed of 28 thousand kilometers. However, when it comes very close, the speed will be reduced. If we talk about the temperature of the capsule, then the heat shield on its outer surface is enduring temperatures up to 2000 degrees Celsius.

In fact, at the beginning of the mission, first liquid oxygen leaked in the Falcon 9 rocket, then there was a malfunction in the system of the Dragon capsule. After this, the weather tried to stop the mission. This is because in 2003 the Space Shuttle Columbia became a victim of an accident. The accident happened just 15 minutes before the completion of the mission. Astronaut Sunita Williams had to wait for months for a safe return due to technical reasons. This is why clouds of worry are also hovering

Shubhanshu left for Earth from ISS at 4:45 pm

On July 14, at around 02:15 pm, Crew Dragon reached the spacecraft.

At 4:45 pm, the spacecraft undocked from the Harmony module of the ISS.

On July 15, at around 3 pm, splashdown will take place on the coast of California.
