Indian Author Baba KaranVeeR Honoured in Nepal — ‘NUSQE’ Wins Best Debut Author Award 2025

The year 2025 has turned out to be extraordinary for Baba KaranVeeR — the celebrated Indian travel and food blogger-turned-author — whose debut book NUSQE has transcended borders and hearts alike. From the sands of Qatar to the serene valleys of Nepal, his journey has been nothing short of cinematic. And this November, destiny completed another divine circle.

Baba KaranVeeR has been honoured with the Best Debut Author Award 2025 in Nepal — his fifth literary accolade for NUSQE and the first international award conferred on Nepalese soil. Earlier, the book earned critical recognition in Dubai, India (twice), and Bahrain, where he was felicitated as the Emerging Author in the Middle East.

The Kathmandu ceremony, hosted jointly by the Government of Nepal and Infinity Services, witnessed participation from distinguished diplomats and senior officials of the Nepalese Army. The evening celebrated the literary and cultural bond between India and Nepal — an event that transcended awards to become a symbol of shared heritage and creative kinship.

For KaranVeeR, the honour felt destined.

“It’s surreal,” he reflected. “Exactly ten months ago, on January 1, 2025, I brought NUSQE to the Pashupatinath Temple for blessings, just fifteen days after its launch. And today, on November 1, standing in the same land, holding this award — it feels like Lord Shiva’s timing, a divine circle of blessings.”

From a Call Centre to a Hundred Countries

Before he became a global storyteller, KaranVeeR’s journey began in a modest Indian call centre. From answering customer queries to flying across continents, his life took an inspiring turn when he joined an international airline as cabin crew — a job that became the gateway to over 100 countries and countless unforgettable experiences.

“Travel changed me,” he says. “It taught me patience, faith, and gratitude. Every culture carries wisdom waiting to be discovered.”

But behind the glamour lay grit. From surviving a gunpoint kidnapping in Nigeria to wandering through Cairo’s ancient lanes at midnight, every episode tested his courage and spirit. Through it all, his trademark optimism remained unshaken — the hallmark of a storyteller shaped by both chaos and calm.

The Spiritual Traveller

For KaranVeeR, travel is meditation. Every journey leads him to temples, churches, mosques, and sacred shrines across the world. He has prayed at the Vatican City, the Fire Temple of Yazd (Iran), an ancient mosque in Djibouti, and the largest Hindu temple in Cambodia.

“These places radiate something words can’t explain,” he says. “They remind me that divinity exists everywhere — in stone, in silence, in people.”

A Bond with the Wild

Away from the literary spotlight, Baba KaranVeeR is known for his profound connection with animals.
“I never feel fear around them,” he smiles. “It’s as if they trust me.”

From walking with wild lions in South Africa and holding an eagle in Scotland to swimming with turtles in the Philippines and hugging a bear in Indonesia, his encounters reflect both courage and compassion. His next goal: volunteering at African animal orphanages to care for rescued wildlife — a personal mission to give back to nature.

NUSQE — A Journey into India’s Healing Wisdom

At the heart of his success lies NUSQE — a tribute to India’s ancient home remedies and healing traditions. Written during the pandemic, the book blends travel, spirituality, and ancestral wisdom through real-life stories.

“When the world waited for vaccines,” he recalls, “I realised we already had timeless knowledge — passed down by our elders. NUSQE is my way of preserving that heritage.”

Today, NUSQE stands not merely as a book but as a modern-day shastra — a soulful bridge between generations.

The Next Chapter: Books, Comics, and Beyond

With NUSQE’s success, Baba KaranVeeR is expanding his creative universe.
His upcoming second book is a fiction novel based on India’s call centre culture — a humorous yet heartfelt story about ambition, struggles, and dreams.

Alongside, he’s developing NUSQEMAN — a web-comic series that introduces India’s first superhero born from ancient Indian wellness traditions.
“It’s fun, quirky, and carries a purpose,” he shares.

His third book, True Ghost Stories of a Flight Attendant, will explore the mystical and eerie side of his global adventures — drawn from his real experiences across skies and cities.

Next year, his YouTube series ‘Temples of India’ will take viewers across sacred sites, decoding their architecture, legends, and spiritual energy. Following that, he embarks on his long-cherished dream journey — a culinary and cultural exploration of South America, leading up to his 101st country: Madagascar.

“Food connects hearts,” he smiles. “It’s the most universal language.”

A Note of Gratitude

“To my family, my friends, and Team NUSQE — Purnima, Hemal, Mohit, Shraddha, and Fahim Bhai — and to every reader who believed in me, thank you,” he says.
“This journey is not mine alone — it belongs to all of us who believe in the magic of stories, travel, and ancient Indian wisdom.”
