Jammu and Kashmir: 26 people killed in Pahalgam terrorist attack

On April 22, 2025, a devastating terrorist attack occurred in Pahalgam, a popular tourist destination in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, India.

In J&K attack, 26 tourists from different states of the country lost their lives, including local youth Syed Adil Hussain Shah. In the attack, the terrorists targeted only men in a planned manner, women were not touched.

Maximum number of lives lost from Maharashtra
Six tourists are from Maharashtra among the dead. Apart from Mumbai residents Hemant Suhas Joshi and Sanjay Laxman Lali, Atul Shrikant Moni, Santosh Jagda and Kastuba Gaanvote also died in this brutal attack. Sushil Nathaniel from Indore, who had gone to Kashmir to celebrate his wife's birthday, also became a victim of the attack. He was working as a branch manager in LIC.

Father-son from Gujarat also died
Yatesh Parmar and his son Sumit Parmar from Bhavnagar, Gujarat lost their lives in this terrorist attack. Also, Shaileshbhai Himmatbhai Kalathia from Surat is also among the dead.

Tourists from all over the country became targets

Not only tourists from Maharashtra and Gujarat, but also from many states like Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Haryana, Odisha, Kerala, Chandigarh, Karnataka and Arunachal Pradesh were killed in the attack. Nepal's Sudeep Neupane also lost his life in this attack.

Pahalgam mourns the death of local Adil

Syed Adil Hussain Shah, who was killed in the attack, was a resident of Pahalgam. His death has shocked the local people. The death of a local person has made it clear that terror has no borders
