Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi, is being deported from the United States to India and is expected to land at Delhi’s IGI Airport on Wednesday morning, according to officials familiar with the development. Anmol, who had fled India to Canada and later entered the US illegally, is among 200 individuals being deported, including two others from Punjab.
Anmol is wanted in multiple high-profile cases, including the firing outside actor Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence in April 2024 and the murder of former NCP leader Baba Siddique in October 2024. His name had earlier surfaced in the 2022 killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. The National Investigation Agency has listed him as a wanted accused and announced a ₹10 lakh reward for information leading to his arrest.
Heavy security was deployed at IGI Airport on Wednesday as central agencies prepared to take custody of the gangster. Officials said the Centre will determine which investigative agency he will be handed over to first, given the number of cases registered against him across states. Mumbai Police, which sent two proposals seeking his extradition earlier, is expected to seek his custody for interrogation.
Baba Siddique’s son, Zeeshan Siddique, said he received an official email from the US Department of Homeland Security confirming the deportation. “Anmol must face the law. We want to know on whose instruction he carried out these crimes,” he said, urging that he be brought to Mumbai for questioning.
Anmol allegedly coordinated with shooters during Siddique’s murder and later received visual confirmation from the crime scene. He is also accused of helping plan Moosewala’s killing along with Canadian gangster Goldy Brar and other associates, arranging weapons and conducting reconnaissance.
Family members have expressed concern over his safety amid ongoing gang rivalries. Authorities are expected to announce formal charges and custody decisions once Anmol is processed upon arrival in Delhi.
