Parliament Monsoon Session Begins: PM Modi Highlights Innovation & Operation Sindoor

The Monsoon Session of Parliament commenced today. PM Narendra Modi called the monsoon a symbol of innovation and regeneration, and highlighted India's military strength showcased during Operation Sindoor.
The Monsoon session of Parliament has started from today. Before the House began, PM Narendra Modi addressed the media. During this, he spoke on the success of Operation Sindoor, Pahalgam terrorist attack, successful return of Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla from International Space Station, Naxalite free India, digital transactions. The world saw India's military might. The PM congratulated astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla and said that he hoisted the tricolor for the first time in the ISS. The hoisting of the Indian tricolor on the ISS is a proud moment for the countrymen. On Operation Sindoor, he said that we razed the terrorist hideouts to the ground under Operation Sindoor in 22 minutes. We proved it. It has shown a new form of Made in India military power.
PM Modi said- The target set by the Indian Army in Operation Sindoor was 100% achieved. The terrorist masters were razed to the ground in 22 minutes under Operation Sindoor. We have proved it. This has shown a new form of Made in India military power. The attraction towards Made in India is increasing among the people of the world whom we have to meet. If the Parliament expresses its victory in one voice, then the countrymen will get inspiration. Also, the research, innovation, the defense equipment that is being made will get strengthened.
Referring to India's economy, the PM said that earlier we were the 10th largest economy in the world, but now we are going to make it the third economy of the world. India is knocking on the world stage with its power. The PM said, 'When you all gave us the responsibility in the economic sector in 2014, the country was going through the phase of Fragile Five. Before 2014, we were at number ten in the global economy. Today India is moving at a fast pace towards becoming the third largest economy in the world.
Monsoon session of Parliament will run for 32 days
The monsoon session of Parliament will run for 32 days from 21 July to 21 August. In total, 18 meetings will be held in 32 days, more than 15 bills will be introduced. Due to Independence Day celebrations, there will be no Parliament proceedings on 13-14 August. The central government will introduce 8 new bills in the monsoon session, while 7 pending bills will be discussed. These include bills like Manipur GST Amendment Bill 2025, Income Tax Bill, National Sports Governance Bill.
On the first day, the report of the parliamentary committee formed on the new Income Tax Bill will be presented in the Lok Sabha. The committee has given 285 suggestions. The 622-page bill will replace the 6-decade-old Income Tax Act 1961.
