PM Modi Flags Off Maruti Suzuki’s First EV, E-Vitara in Gujarat

During his Gujarat visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Maruti Suzuki’s first electric SUV, the E-Vitara, marking a major step towards India’s green mobility future.
PM Modi is on a Gujarat tour. On the second and last day of the tour, today PM Narendra Modi reached Suzuki Motor Plant located in Hansalpur, Gujarat. During this, Prime Minister Modi flagged off Maruti Suzuki's first EV E-Vitara. This E-Vitara is made in India. It will be exported to 100 countries including Europe-Japan.
Maruti Suzuki, India's largest carmaker, displayed the E-Vitara at the India Mobility Global Expo. The company has an annual capacity of 26 lakh units and has exported 3.32 lakh vehicles in FY25.
Before going to Suzuki Motor Plant, PM Modi gave this information on social media X. The Prime Minister had written - Today is a special day towards India's self-reliance and becoming a center of green mobility. At the event held in Hansalpur, the e-Vitara will be flagged off. This battery electric vehicle (BEV) is manufactured in India and will be exported to more than 100 countries. To boost our battery ecosystem, production of hybrid battery electrodes will also start at a plant in Gujarat.
