Rajasthan Man Found Dead Near Palwal Weighbridge; Family Blames Owner Rakesh Singhal, Seeks High-Level Probe
Digital Desk
The decomposed body of Mahesh Sharma, a resident of Shivsinghpura (Jaipur) and a long-time employee at the Balaji Weighbridge in Palwal, Haryana, was discovered near the facility’s boundary wall, triggering serious allegations from his family. Sharma had worked at the weighbridge for nearly 15 years.
The family has accused weighbridge owner Rakesh Singhal and his associates of murdering Mahesh and covering up the crime. They have demanded an impartial, high-level investigation, expressing fear as the accused remain unarrested.
Body found hidden behind thick bushes
On 4 October 2025, Mundkati Police were alerted about a foul smell emanating from behind the weighbridge. Officers found a male body in an advanced state of decomposition, dumped amid dense bushes and concealed with grass. Locals later identified the deceased as Mahesh Sharma, who lived on the weighbridge premises. The body was sent to the Palwal Civil Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
Family alleges harassment prior to disappearance
According to Mahesh’s brother, Rajkumar Sharma, Mahesh had visited home on 6 September, telling them he was being harassed by owner Rakesh Singhal. Mahesh returned to work on 9 September but soon went missing.
A co-worker reportedly informed Singhal about Mahesh’s absence between 27 and 30 September, yet the family claims they were not notified — a lapse that has intensified suspicions.
FIR filed against weighbridge owner
Rajkumar’s complaint states that Mahesh was killed as part of a conspiracy and his body was intentionally dumped behind the weighbridge wall. Based on the allegations, Mundkati Police registered an FIR against Rakesh Singhal and unidentified accomplices under Sections 103(1) (murder), 238(a) (destruction of evidence) and 3(5) (unlawful disposal of a body) of the BNS. The investigation is being led by PSI Rohit Kumar. No arrests have been made yet.
Family seeks protection
The victim’s family claims they are receiving threats from the accused and have sought immediate security from Haryana authorities.
Delegation meets minister
A delegation from Shivsinghpura met Haryana Sports Minister Gaurav Gautam, submitting the FIR and postmortem documents. They demanded strict action, a high-level probe, and protection for the family.
Family determined to pursue justice
The combination of alleged harassment, Mahesh’s disappearance, the delay in reporting, and the concealed body has raised serious concerns. The family maintains they will continue to seek justice until all those responsible are held accountable. The investigation is underway.
