Rajasthan to See Expanded Grassroots Push for Skills and Education

The People Forum of India – National Bharat Sevak Samaj (NBSS) has unveiled plans to expand its community-focused programmes in Rajasthan, aiming to enhance skill development, promote women’s empowerment, and widen access to education for children.

This announcement followed a meeting at Bikaner House in New Delhi between Dr. Bhargav Mallappa, National Deputy Chairman of the People Forum of India, and Smt. Rinku Meena, Joint Resident Commissioner of the Rajasthan Government.

The discussion centered on integrating the Forum’s initiatives with the state’s ongoing development programmes. Dr. Mallappa stressed the importance of equipping local communities with sustainable livelihood skills and improving educational facilities. “Our vision is to enable communities to progress independently, while preserving their dignity and cultural roots,” he said.

Smt. Meena welcomed the Forum’s efforts, underlining Rajasthan Government’s consistent commitment to education and vocational training. She noted that collaborations with organisations like the People Forum of India could significantly enhance the impact of state-led schemes at the grassroots.

Both leaders acknowledged the progress made through government programmes but also recognised persistent challenges, including resource shortages in rural schools, barriers limiting women’s participation in skill-based employment, and entrenched socio-economic disparities.

The meeting concluded with a shared agreement to explore joint initiatives that would strengthen skill development and education efforts in Rajasthan, paving the way for long-term social and economic growth.
