Echoes of Sanatan in India and the Challenge of Anti-National Forces

India’s Sanatan culture and civilization form the strongest foundation of our democratic life. The Sanatan tradition is not merely about rituals; it teaches the art of living, discipline in society, the sense of duty, and mutual cooperation.

This is why our ancestors established welfare-oriented ideals through the Vedas, Puranas, Ramayana, and Mahabharata.

The Ideal of Ram Rajya
The ideals of Ram Rajya—justice, duty, and equality—still guide the spirit of Indian democracy today. Navratri, which celebrates the worship of Shakti, and the festival of Dussehra, which signifies the victory of good over evil, impart timeless lessons. This Sanatan heritage has given us the power of rules, discipline, and adherence to dharma, which has kept India united and vibrant across ages. That is why, even today, amid democratic challenges globally, India serves as a model for humanity by embodying the spirit of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” (Collective Welfare for All).

Rising Anti-National Challenges
However, violent activities by youth in some cities are a matter of concern. Anti-national slogans in university campuses, inflammatory content on social media, and incidents of stone-pelting during religious processions represent attempts to undermine democracy. Recent incidents in Delhi, Pune, Hyderabad, and Kolkata have highlighted how certain organizations are misleading youth, using them as tools for ideological conflict.

Cultural and Moral Response Needed
This challenge cannot be addressed solely through law or administrative action; it requires the strength of culture, education, and moral consciousness. We must draw inspiration from Sanatan traditions, the ideals of Ram Rajya, and spiritual practices, fostering continuous moral and social awareness among the younger generation. Only then will India’s democracy remain intact and continue to stand out as a leading democratic model in the world.
