Jal Ganga Abhiyan Becomes Mass Movement: MP CM Mohan Yadav

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan has evolved into a powerful mass movement for water conservation, uniting citizens, institutions, and administration in a collective mission to preserve water resources.

The vision of development from the legacy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is for holistic welfare, which is included in every aspect of development from nature conservation to development. It is a pleasure to inform that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he ran a water conservation campaign for a long time. Taking inspiration from him, we conceptualized Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan in Madhya Pradesh. The campaign was launched on March 30 from the Shipra bank of Ujjaini, the city of Mahakal. The campaign has been dedicated to water conservation, revival of water sources and public awareness. Today we are celebrating the prosperity of water conservation with the creation of many records of water collection.

I am happy to inform that in the 90-day campaign, large-scale work has been done on water structures in the entire state. In this campaign, Khandwa district has constructed 1.29 lakh structures. For this special achievement, Khandwa has got the first place in terms of groundwater storage.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the Catch the Rain campaign for water security and effective water management. Inspired by this, an effort was made to save every drop of rain under the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan in Madhya Pradesh. For the first time in the state, a large-scale campaign was launched to save rainwater. This will reduce the dependence on groundwater in future and every drop of water will be used.

We imbibed the Prime Minister's Mission Life Mantra

We imbibed the Prime Minister's Mission Life Mantra. By changing our lifestyle, we have taken the thread of environmental protection in our hands. This has created a tradition of living life as an environmental friend among the people. The people of the state will move forward on the path of progress with nature as per Mission Life.

Under the guidance of the Prime Minister, a re-use water portal is being created for the first time in Madhya Pradesh. This initiative will prove to be a milestone in the direction of water conservation and reuse in the state. In this way, the state is working on a strategy based on the three principles of re-use, reduce and re-cycle for water management.

It is our good fortune that the land of Madhya Pradesh is rich in the abundant wealth of nature. It is the home of about 267 rivers including Maa Narmada, Shipra Maiyya, Tapti and Betwa. For the first time in the state, the origin of more than 145 rivers has been marked to make the rivers clean and uninterrupted and plantation has started along with cleaning. This initiative of planting trees on the banks of the rivers is an effort to drape the green dupatta on the rivers in their home.

For the first time in Madhya Pradesh, 2.30 lakh Jaldoots were made
The Prime Minister had called upon our youth power to become Jal Sainiks. In this campaign, 2.30 lakh Jaldoots were made for the first time in Madhya Pradesh. I have full faith that these Amrit Mitras will become the pioneers of water security in future to save water. For the first time in the state, more than one and a half lakh farmers organized 812 Pani Chaupal in all the development blocks. In this, the farmers discussed the conservation, promotion of their village's fields, water sources and renovation of old water structures.

Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan has become a campaign of the people, for the people along with the government
I am happy that Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan has become a campaign of the people, for the people along with the government. This campaign has taken the form of a mass movement. The state has proved that if the government and the public work together, no goal is impossible. Farmers, women, youth and students have made water conservation a mantra of life. This has developed a sense of water conservation and a mindset of participation in the society. This campaign has filled all of us with a new resolve and energy. This campaign is not just a work of water conservation, but it is the thread of security of our culture, tradition and future, with which the prosperity of the state is linked.
