The legendary folk artist, who played a pivotal role in taking Chhattisgarh’s traditional storytelling art form to national and international audiences, passed away at the age of 70 after a prolonged illness.

Dr. Budhri Tati from Dantewada, Chhattisgarh, awarded Padma Shri for empowering over 500 women and serving 545 villages on foot in Bastar for 35 years despite life threats.
