Tamil Nadu Minister Arun Raj has hit back at Leader of Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin’s criticism of the state government’s law and order situation, saying Chief Minister Vijay would respond to all questions raised in the Assembly.
The remarks came after a heated exchange during the Tamil Nadu Assembly session, where Udhayanidhi questioned the government over law and order issues and alleged that the situation had deteriorated under the current administration.
Responding to the criticism, Arun Raj said the Chief Minister would provide answers on the issues raised in the House. He indicated that the government would address the concerns through the Assembly rather than through political statements outside it.
The law and order debate has become a key point of confrontation between the ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) government and the Opposition. Udhayanidhi has raised questions over crime-related incidents, government accountability and the administration’s response to public concerns.
Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay had earlier said that he would respond to the questions raised during the discussion, asking members to wait for his reply.
The exchange reflects the growing political contest in Tamil Nadu Assembly proceedings, with the Opposition seeking answers from the government on governance issues and the ruling side defending its record.
The government has maintained that issues raised in the Assembly will be addressed through official responses and administrative action.
The debate is expected to continue as both sides use Assembly proceedings to highlight their positions on law and order, governance and public concerns.
