BJP made serious allegations against Arvind Kejriwal, said - Pension scam leads to fraud of Rs 200 crore every year
New Delhi
The Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made a serious allegation against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government led by Arvind Kejriwal. The BJP says that a major pension scam took place in the previous government, due to which the government treasury suffered a loss of Rs 200 crore every year. The ruling party alleges that the scam was carried out through fake beneficiaries.
The Aam Aadmi Party issued an official statement responding to the allegations of the BJP, saying that they had already warned the citizens of Delhi that if the BJP came to power, it would end all welfare schemes, and now it is proving to be true. At the same time, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said that the people of the capital want the government led by Rekha Gupta to conduct a high-level inquiry.
Sachdeva said that as per the current investigation, 83 thousand registered women are suspicious or fake, and an annual scam of Rs 200 crore has taken place in the name of 60 thousand destitute women. Apart from this, irregularities have been suspected in 22,795 other cases as well. The citizens of Delhi demand that Arvind Kejriwal clarify where this Rs 200 crore went annually—did it go to the election fund of ministers, MLAs, party workers or Aam Aadmi Party? The Delhi BJP president said that last year the BJP had expressed concern about this irregularity and also demonstrated outside the Aam Aadmi Party office. The process started after the approval of the investigation in October 2024, but the government of that time stopped it.
The Aam Aadmi Party has accused the BJP and said that the current government is trying to end welfare schemes. The party warned that the BJP has started closing hundreds of Mohalla Clinics alleging scams, which has also affected the free treatment of accident victims. Apart from this, testing in private labs has also been stopped and electricity prices have been increased. The party also said that BJP can also end the free electricity scheme on the basis of fabricated allegations.
Sachdeva clearly raised the question that Arvind Kejriwal should tell whose pocket the Rs 200 crore went into. He said that even God will not forgive the government that snatches the rights of poor and helpless women. Sachdeva demanded a fair investigation into the matter and said that whoever is guilty, be it an MLA or a minister, strict action should be taken against him. This allegation has come to light at a time when the former Aam Aadmi Party government is already under investigation in many cases. The issue of widow pension scam has become politically sensitive, as it directly relates to women of the poor class.
