BJP Eyes Didi's Bengali Identity Strategy
Politics
As Mamata Banerjee leverages Bengali identity, BJP appears to adopt similar tactics in a bid to sway voters ahead of upcoming elections.
Ahead of the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections, the BJP has adopted a new strategy to counter Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's accusations of Bengali identity. Party leaders are now reaching out to expatriate Bengali Hindus living in various states. The aim is to make Bengalis aware of the true state of affairs in the state and to galvanize them against the Trinamool Congress.
BJP leaders have publicly stated that there is no need to respond to these baseless allegations, but on the other hand, they have accelerated their strategy to settle scores by fielding expatriate Bengalis against the Trinamool Congress.
